Basic types of sealer machines

A sealer machine is a device used in many industries to permanently join thermoplastic materials. The sealing process is based on heat and pressure, which melt two materials, thus creating strong and durable connection.  Depending on the needs, there are various technologies, such as impulse, thermal (continuous heat) and high-frequency (HF/RF).

Impulse sealing

Impulse sealing uses electric current going through the heating element, which heats up the material up to the temperature that melts it. Then, thanks to the use of appropriate pressure and controlled cooling process, a durable and aesthetic seal is achieved. Machines of this type are used in the textile production, for example, for canopies and banners, where the high quality of the seal is important.

Thermal sealing

In this technology, continuous heat source, such as a heating element or an electrode, melts two materials, which are then connected under pressure. Thermal sealers are used in the production of packaging for food, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics. Their key advantage is the possibility to precisely set parameters, such as temperature, sealing time and pressure, which ensures high precision and process repeatability, even for large production batches.

HF/RF Welding

High frequency welders (HF/RF) use electrical energy to join materials, such as plastic and thermoplastic materials. When exposed to HF waves, the particles in polar materials such as PVC or TPU become heated, leading to melting and permanent connection. The technology is widely used in the medical, automotive and textile industries. The advantage of HF welding is that the parameters, such as power, time and pressure, can be precisely adjusted to the properties of the material, creating extremely durable, tight and aesthetically pleasing joints.

Application of sealer machines

Sealer machines are used in many industries, including the production of packaging, textiles or automotive components. They are used where permanent and tight material connections are required. Thanks to different technologies, such as impulse, thermal or HF/RF, the right solution can be selected for the specific production process.

Choice of a sealer machine

Choosing the right machine depends on the type of material, the precision required and the scale of production. Modern machines offer precise parameter control, which affects the quality of the joints and the efficiency of the process. An example of a manufacturer of such machines is Zemat Technology Group, whose equipment meets the high demands of users.

Benefits of sealing

Sealing is a quick and energy-saving process, which ensures durable and tights joints. Modern technologies, such as HF/RF, allow high quality products to be achieved while minimising material losses.
